Mining magnate Clive Palmer from Australia has announced plans to build an exact replica of the original Titanic ship and hopes to launch Titanic II in late 2016.
He plans on having the ship built in China before an initial passenger trip from Southampton in England to New York. The ship is planned to be the same dimensions of the original and would have the same class separations as the original.
Mr. Palmer has formed Blue Star line company (http://www.bluestarline.com.au/) for Titanic II project which carried out to build 3d interiors and exteriors models of selective areas.
Blue Star Line hired 'Virtual Mechanix' (www.virtual-mechanix.com/) to execute this task. I am one of the Freelance 3D Modeler/Texture Artist for Virtual Mechanix team who built the model and did the texturing.
Titanic II Areas that I worked on:
Second Class Cabin - Modelling and Texturing of (the whole room with furniture)
First Class Cabin - Texturing (the whole room) and did Modelling for one part of the room (Vanity area)
First Class Dining - Complete room Set up with lights and did the Texturing of the whole room
The work will be showcased only after June 2013 due to the Contractual Agreement.
